APPOINTMENT POLICY AND REQUIREMENTS, FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY.

What is cosmetic tatooing?

Cosmetic tattooing is the process of implanting colour pigment beneath the surface of the skin using disposable needles to enhance the natural appearance of ones face or body.

How long does it last?

Cosmetic tattoo treatments are considered semi-permanent and will fade over time. They need to be touched up annually but frequency of touch-ups depends on a number of factors. Lighter Pigments fade faster, lifestyle such as sun exposure can fade your cosmetic tattoo and if any chemical/laser peels come into contact with the tattooed area. A typical new client brow, lips and eyeliner booking takes 2.5hrs and a touch longer depending on your artist.

Final results cannot be guaranteed as each unique skintype will retain pigment differently and also break down at different rate.
Multiple sessions are completely normal for cosmetic tattoo procedures. Every new procedure requires a minimum of 2 visits.

HOW MANY TREATMENTS ARE NEEDED?

For most clients a minimum of 2 treatments are needed, at least 6 - 8 weeks apart. During the first week of healing, colour will appear dramatically lighter. At this second session the colour retention is assessed and any adjustments are made as necessary (such as going darker) Remember, everyone heals differently and at different rates!

No we do not offer these services, sorry.

Can I bring a friend/my child to my appointment?

Please only bring yourself to your appointment. While the studio does have a waiting area, there are other artists with their own clients so I cannot guarantee there will be enough seating for additional guests.

How old do I have to be?

You do have to be 18 and over. It is illegal to tattoo anyone under the age of 18

Does Cosmetic Tattooing hurt?

Pain thresholds vary for each individual person. Obtaining cosmetic tattooing during your menstrual cycle may increase discomfort during your procedure. Every effort is made to ensure you remain comfortable for the procedure.

What factors will affect my Cosmetic Tattoo?

A multitude of individual and lifestyle factors will affect the longevity of your cosmetic tattoo including the following:

  • The time it takes for your body’s skin cells to regenerate will affect how the skin grasps the pigment. The longer this process takes, the longer the pigment will hold.
  • The time it takes for the skin to absorb the pigment will also affect how the skin grasps the pigment. The slower the process, the longer the pigment will hold.
  • Lighter pigments such as blonde will fade faster than a darker pigment.
  • Bleeding during the procedure reduces the amount of pigment that can be absorbed. For brow cosmetic tattoo, this can cause the end result to appear less crisp. Please note that substances which cause blood thinning (such as alcohol and certain medications/pain killers) should not be consumed prior to or following an appointment.
  • If you are anemic you will metabolize the pigment faster and your tattoo will fade quicker.
  • Thyroid medication.
  • Constant sun exposure of the treated area promotes faster fading in comparison to covered parts of the body.
  • Sun exposure will decrease the appearance of the pigment. Once healed, sun screen is to be applied to the area to reduce the risk of fading.
  • Smoking causes faster fading
